Mama’s Opens At Mercantile West in Ladera Ranch
05.20.21
Mama’s Comfort Food & Cocktails, the popular Orange County restaurant known for its top-quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner comfort foods with a twist, has opened at Mercantile West in Ladera Ranch.
Providing 4,000 square feet of interior space with an inviting 1,700 square foot patio, Mama’s Comfort Foods & Cocktails serves a similar menu to the existing Mama’s locations in Huntington Beach and Los Alamitos. The friendly, casual setting offers a full bar of creative cocktails, unique craft beers, and hard-to-find wines by the glass and bottle.
Mama’s serves breakfast all day, with signature dishes including Jeff’s Breakfast Bomb (served on a King’s Hawaiian roll with two eggs, smoked ham, bacon, sausage, American cheese, and Mama’s Potatoes on the side), French Toast (sliced King’s Hawaiian bread, sliced fresh strawberries, blueberries, powdered sugar, maple syrup), and Country Fried Prime Rib (freshly sliced fried Prime Rib topped with their famous homemade country gravy, served with seasonal veggies, and a choice of Mama’s Potatoes or forked mashed potatoes.)
The extensive lunch and dinner options include an array of salads, pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches, and specialties such as BBQ Pork Ribs (half rack of Mama’s slow-roasted pork ribs, coleslaw, Mac n chz and a piece of Mama’s garlic bread), Mama’s Homemade Meatloaf (Mama’s own homemade recipe, choice of Mama’s Potatoes or forked mashed potatoes, and seasonal veggies), and Prime New York Steak (hand-trimmed and cooked to order, topped with fried onion straws and served with soup or salad, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies.)
Kids of all ages will also enjoy Thrifty brand ice cream for dessert, which is available by the scoop and pint, in a milkshake, or for take-out.
The vibrant interior features retro colors and design elements reminiscent of the 1970s, and numerous big-screen TVs will show sporting events, including Direct NFL TV, and all Dodgers and Angels games. Live entertainment will entertain guests on the spacious patio, but the schedule will vary.
Founder and longtime restaurateur Pete Truxaw describes Mama’s as evoking memories of eating delicious made-from-scratch meals at home, with family gathered to enjoy each other and Mama’s amazing cooking. Truxaw owns and operates each location with partner Robert Corrigan. Truxaw opened the first Mama’s in Huntington Beach in 2011.
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Mama’s 10th anniversary than to be opening a new location in South County,” said Truxaw. “Ladera Ranch is great community. We’re excited to be a part of it, and welcome everyone to Mama’s.”
Reservations are only available for parties of eight or more.
Mama’s Comfort Food & Cocktails opens daily at 8:30 a.m., and Happy Hour is offered daily from 2 to 6 p.m.
The restaurant is in Mercantile West at 25606 Crown Valley Pkwy. in Ladera Ranch. For more information, visit mamason39.com or call 949.889.2600.
