The Scoop on Halo Top, Heavenly Light Ice Cream
11.07.16
We are in heaven ever since we found Halo Top, the world’s best low calorie/high protein ice cream that’s super guilt free and tasty. Halo Top is only 240-280 calories per pint. It has 24 grams of protein per pint, it’s low sugar, low carb, low fat and no synthetic growth hormones are added.
It’s sweetened with organic stevia and erythritol, another all-natural sweetener found in fruits like pears and grapes. Though it’s technically a sugar alcohol, it doesn’t affect blood glucose or cause bloating.
Halo Top is available in so many great flavors including Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Strawberry, Lemon Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Mocha Chip, Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Cup, Cookies & Cream, Sea Salt Caramel, S’Mores, Pistachio, Oatmeal Cookie, Chocolate Almond Crunch, Black Cherry and Red Velvet.
And get this, in November, for every Instagram pic you post of Halo Top ice cream using #RaiseYourSpoon, HaloTopCreamery will donate $1 to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (up to $10,000)!
Halo Top is readily available at Bristol Farms, Mother's Market, Pavilions, Ralph's, Vons and Whole Foods.

Global Genes Raises Funds for WAM!
11.07.16
Global Genes, a rare disease rare disease advocacy organization, is helping to raise funds for WE ARE MORE! at Disneyland through the Carousel of Possible Dreams event on Wednesday, November 9. WE ARE MORE! is a newly formed organization and advocacy group for teens with rare disease. Founded by Newport Beach's 17-year-old, Shira Strongin, WAM! aims to connect the rare disease community and empower young adults to change the perception of illness and rare disease in mainstream media.
Following the Global Genes’ 2015 annual RARE Patient Advocacy Summit, Strongin met with other young adults in attendance to discuss the challenges of teens with rare disease. The group brainstormed and shared ideas about how they could empower others to become activists for the rare teen community. “We want to show that just because our illnesses and disabilities are a large part of our lives, they are most definitely not all that we are and strive to be,” said Strongin. WAM! is an advocacy group open to interested members 13-25 years of age.
Global Genes has a goal of raising $15k for WAM! through the event and is already half way there! You can get involved here through donating or joining the team.
