Project Juice, The Healthy Unicorn
05.31.17
Project Juice Laguna Beach just introduced a healthier version to the unicorn craze. It just launched a “secret menu,” complete with a nutritional-powerhouse menu item – the Unicorn Parfait. As with all Project Juice menu items, it contains only 100 percent certified organic, non-GMO clean foods, and nothing artificial about it.
The Unicorn Parfait combines house-made, dairy free coconut yogurt – a boon for gut health – with the vivid fuchsia-hued pitaya, aloe, strawberries, bananas and its magical ingredient (visually and nutritionally) – Blue Majik, a blue-green algae that is antioxidant rich and a powerful anti-inflammatory, which gives the parfait its signature unicorn swirl.
It’s topped with gluten-free granola, and the whole dish is low in sodium, rich in protein, fiber, healthy carbs and fats. The ingredients are known to help lower blood pressure, regulate digestion, relieve inflammation, hydrate, and of course are enough to make anyone feel magical as they walk the streets of Laguna Beach.
Open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
1100 S Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach. 949.484.0239.

BRUNO SERATO CELEBRATES 30TH ANNIVERSARY WITH DINNER GALA
05.30.17
You can join a celebration of Sir Bruno Serato’s 30th anniversary as owner of the Anaheim White House at Christ Cathedral Cultural Center in Garden Grove on Sunday, June 4 at 5 p.m. The festivities will include four-course dinner and Champagne toast. “I am looking forward to celebrating my 30th anniversary with my many friends and loyal guests who have supported me through the years,” said Serato. “While this milestone is bittersweet since we can’t hold the gala at my beloved restaurant, I can’t wait until the doors of the rebuilt Anaheim White House are opened!”
For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international publicity including profiles in People Magazine, “CBS Evening News” and newspapers and magazines the world over. Among his many honors is being named a CNN Hero, being knighted by the Italian government, receiving a papal blessing from Pope Francis, getting a humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, and receiving numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other forms of recognition -- all of which he accepts to generate public awareness of the needs of our most vulnerable population – children. Tickets are $175 per person including tax and gratuity. A number of sponsorships are available including Bronze $2.,500, Silver $5,000, Platinum $10,000 and Diamond $10,000+ with all funds going to help rebuild the restaurant, which was destroyed in a fire several months ago. Those unable to attend are encouraged to contribute to the GoFundMe page, which can be found at AnaheimWhiteHouse.com.
Christ Cathedral Cultural Center is at 13280 Chapman Ave. in Garden Grove.
