Sips and Sweets at Golden Foodie Awards
07.21.14
At the upcoming Golden Foodie Awards on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Fairmont Newport Beach, the top cuisine in Orange County will be honored at the red carpet soiree, and guests can also indulge in decadent samples of sips and sweets for an unprecedented culinary experience.
For Golden Foodie Awards attendees with a sweet tooth, Valenza Chocolatier, B. Toffee, and Casey’s Cupcakes will showcase their extraordinary treats. Valenza Chocolatier will be creating an exclusive ‘Bonbons of Gold,’ an adult version of a traditional peanut butter cup, wrapped in a 23k edible gold dusted shell. B. Toffee, the ‘Official Toffee of the Golden Foodie Awards,” will offer samplings of delicious handcrafted fine-toffee confections. Casey’s Cupcakes will present the official ‘Golden Velvet Cupcakes,’ red velvet cakes frosted and dusted with 24-carat gold dust and glitter. Delicious “gold kissed spheres” known as Golden Chocolate Rochers by the talented Pastry Chef Jeffrey Kahle of the Fairmont Newport Beach will also be available for sampling.
Delicious libations will be paired with the cornucopia of sweet treats. The golden bubbles of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne will be awaiting guests on the gala dining tables during the ceremony alongside Patron XO, Chambord and fresh roasted Kean Coffee. During the after party, Kean Coffee will serve a Golden Affogato at their Pour-Over Bar. This special combination of drink and dessert will consist of a shot of Golden Mean Espresso drizzled over After's Artisan Vanilla Ice Cream then topped with Golden Caramel and speckled with Guittard Chocolate Shavings.
The Fresh Patron Cocktail Bar will feature the famous Patron Tequila and nekter juices for those interested in an invigorating cocktail. A vibrant and tropical cocktail inspired by Belize, named “Kanantik” (which means “to take care” in Mayan Mopan) will be highlighted at the gala and is hand-crafted by Koire Rogers, Arc Restaurant, using fresh fruits native to Belize and Ketel One. A sweet and juicy seasonal fresh fruit bar by Melissa’s Produce will also be spotlighted.
To be a part of this decadent culinary experience, visit goldenfoodieawards for more information. Ticket prices will increase after Aug. 1st to $200.
