Fun And Fitwall
11.10.14
An advanced workout just debuted in Newport Beach, near Fashion Island, called Fitwall, a branded vertical training studio. The Irvine-headquartered concept was recently named one of "The World’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Fitness” by Fast Company and that’s mostly thanks to its focus on exercise science and technology.
Fitwall athletes wear heart rate monitors that track their exertion during 40-minute workouts on iPads attached to each 7-foot by 30-inch wall. Heart rate recovery to how well Fitwall coaches are performing can be collected from the data. There’s also a high-tech gamification feature, where athletes in different studios can compete against one another.
The exercise itself took more than 7 years to develop and maximizes results in a fraction of the time by using hundreds of muscles at once.
Fitwall has taken off in San Diego, with a steady following and recently launched a global franchise program expecting to sign deals for 200+ studios in the next two years.
