106th Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade

Tomorrow night marks the opening night of the 106th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, taking place at 6:30 p.m. with comedic actress Leslie Mann and singer/actor Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray as the first ever Grand Marshals for the parade. Each night through Sunday, Dec. 21 the parade starts at Bay Island at 6:30 p.m. and finishes at the same site at approximately 9 p.m., completing its 14.7-mile route around Newport Harbor.
Themed “Deck the Hulls with Bows of Jolly,” over 100 boats will be adorned with lights, decorations, moving displays, dancers, and music.
Local restaurants in the neighborhood will be offering special menus in honor of the annual holiday event. It’s a great way to enjoy some of the area’s best dining and view the parade.
A&O Kitchen + Bar at Balboa Bay Resort will have a special Boat Parade Menu with first come, first serve seating. You can view the menu here.
Billy’s at the Beach will be offering a special three-course prix-fixe menu and 4 seatings that guarantee viewing of the entire parade.
Hornblower Cruises is offering an exclusive dinner cruise, giving guests an unforgettable view of the Parade from onboard a Hornblower yacht. Details here.

Waterline at the Balboa Bay Resort: Special three-course menu during the Boat Parade for $70.
The Winery Restaurant & Bar will have a prix-fixe dinner menu from 5:30pm – 8:30pm every night of the parade, $139/guest and $49/children 10 and younger.
The Village Inn on Balboa Island has created some special cocktails available through December to honor the first-ever Grand Marshals Actress Leslie Mann and Singer Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray.
The GingerbreadMANN: Made with cranberry rosemary ice cubes ($12). The Village Inn Balboa Bar: a festive cocktail garnished with a piece of world-famous Balboa Bar frozen banana (12.95). The McGrath Moonshine Mule: served in a copper mug ($12).

We Olive & Wine Bar Opens in SJC

We Olive & Wine Bar just celebrated its first South Orange County location in San Juan Capistrano. It opened just in time for holiday shopping with a variety of gifts that include artisan extra virgin olive oils, hand-crafted tapenades, mustards, pesto, balsamic vinegars, body and skin care products, kitchen accessories, serving dishes, olive wood, ceramics and decorative fixtures.
After the New Year, We Olive & Wine Bar will roll out the second phase of its boutique with the grand opening of the wine bar.
In addition to fresh, delicious and healthful foods, We Olive & Wine Bar will offer small production artisan wines, which will be available by the taste, glass or bottle to enjoy in the bar, or by the bottle to take home or gift.
Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
