Here’s your chance to see the most valuable diamond ever discovered in the U.S: The stunning 4.62 carat Esperanza Diamond is on display at Black, Starr & Frost’s Newport Beach salon today through Saturday, January 16.
Master diamond cutter Mike Botha of Canada’s Embee Diamonds spent 130 hours cutting and polishing the flawless Esperanza. He'll be demonstrating the painstaking diamond cutting technique. With an estimated $1 million value, the diamond is available to purchase using an open bidding process through Black, Starr & Frost until February 15, 2016.
Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Laguna College of Art and Design Presents “The Splendor of Italy”

Laguna College of Art and Design welcomes The Splendor of Italy, an exhibition of works from the experience of LCAD Summer Aboard program in Italy opening today through February 20. You can meet the artists at a reception on First Thursday Artwalk, February 4 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The art works portray the highlights of the group’s visits to many significant and memorable museums, churches and historical sites such the Pantheon, Colosseum of Rome, Roman Forum, Sistine Chapel, Villa Borghese, Brancacci Chapel, Medici Chapels in San Lorenzo Church, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, Uffizi Palace, Doge’s Palace, Accademia Gallery and more.
Exhibiting artists include: Micaela Aguirre, Elizabeth Alvarez, David Amaral, Nicole Bakale, Amy Bergener, Caitlin Blenz, Taylor Caro, Venetia Ellis, Omar Field-Rahman, Lauren Ghiasian, Meaghan Greaves, William Havlicek, Sara Humel, Don Lagerberg, Sam Mazzarella, Maureen McGinnis, Hiroko Miyama, Hyatt Moore, Anne Moore, Machiko Naganuma, Grant Nasto, Brad Neal, Kassidy Penso, Kellen Pocock, Betty Shelton, Scott Talevich, Nina Ulett, and Lora Wanta.
Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
