Volunteer Opportunities at NB Film Fest
03.14.17
If you are a film lover and have extra time, what better way to spend it than as a volunteer for Orange County’s annual celebration of cinema. The 18th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival runs April 20—April 27 and volunteers can participate in several aspects of the festival including guest relations, merchandise sales, theater ushering, and office reception.
Prior to the festival, volunteers must attend at least one mandatory orientation meeting. The meeting provides an overview of festival activities, as well as updated information on positions and volunteer responsibilities. Volunteers will have the opportunity to sign up for specific shifts at the meeting.
Volunteers under 18 years old must submit a signed parental consent form. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
All volunteers are required to attend ONE of the following Newport Beach Film Festival orientation sessions:
Wednesday, March 22 – Oasis Senior Center – 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 25 – Oasis Senior Center – 1 to 2 p.m.
Saturday, March 25 - Newport Beach Film Festival Office – 4 to 5 p.m.
Monday, March 27 - Newport Beach Film Festival Office – 5 to 6 p.m.
Volunteers must RSVP with their selected orientation date to volunteer@newportbeachfilmfest.com
New volunteers must also register online for Shiftboard, here and click on “New Registration."
Returning volunteers can log into their previous account on Shiftboard, here.

Meathead Movers in Support of Human Options
03.14.17
Studies show that one in three women have been victims of some form of physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime – many feel trapped and unable to escape.
In response, Meathead Movers, the Orange County-based student athlete moving company, works with leading local domestic violence prevention nonprofit Human Options, to help move these victims out of abusive situations.
Meathead Movers works directly with Human Options to identify the abusive situations and provide moving services at no cost. Not only do these services help the victims of domestic abuse, but they directly impact Meathead employees – consisting of predominately young men who believe that real men don’t hit women, real men help those in need.
