Prado West, NEW LUXURY COMMUNITY IN DANA POINT’S LANTERN DISTRICT BEGINS CONSTRUCTION
08.21.17
In early 2019, Dana Point will have a new, luxury community to call home in the Lantern District. Orange County-based Raintree Partners has launched construction on its new mixed-use multifamily property, between Pacific Coast Highway and Del Prado Avenue in downtown Dana Point.
The project, called Prado West, will include 109 luxury residences and nearly 30,000 square feet of new restaurants, shops, and public outdoor community space. Dana Point’s Lantern District is evolving into a pedestrian-oriented mixed-use district, and Prado West will be one of its first new developments.
Raintree Partners has increased public courtyard space within its project, eliminated the project’s controversial roof decks, and reduced the height of several elevator towers at the building. Raintree Partners also added parking to the publicly accessible portion of the project’s parking garage and reconfigured the garage entries to allow for more active commercial uses along Amber Lantern including a large public courtyard.
The new upscale apartment community at Prado West will offer thoughtfully designed one-, two- and three-bedroom residences in walking distance to the beach and retail options, featuring private outdoor dining terraces, concierge services, on-site fitness, on-demand boat and paddle board rental, and more, according to Check.
The community’s retail space is planned as a walkable commercial storefront area that will accommodate a vibrant mix of local restauranteurs and retailers in a casual coastal setting.
During the construction of Prado West, which will also include a new parking garage with public parking spaces, one block of Amber Lantern between Pacific Coast Highway and Del Prado Avenue will be closed to traffic.
While Amber Lantern is currently closed, drivers travelling west on Pacific Coast Highway can access Del Prado Avenue using Ruby Lantern. Eastbound Pacific Coast Highway travelers are able to access Del Prado Avenue using Violet Lantern. To access businesses with entrances on the alley south of Pacific Coast Highway between Violet Lantern and Amber Lantern, drivers can use the temporary access driveway from Pacific Coast Highway.
Ample free public parking will remain available throughout construction. Free public parking is available:
Between Pacific Coast Highway and Del Prado Avenue off Ruby Lantern
Between Pacific Coast Highway and Del Prado Avenue off Violet Lantern
Off San Juan Avenue and Violet Lantern
East of Pacific Coast Highway off San Marino Place
