BON APPÉTASTE AT FRIEDMANS HOME EXPERIENCE
08.23.18
Long Beach’s culinary community is joining forces to help support Steel Magnolias Signature Event, Bon Appétaste, a celebration of food, wine and spirits taking place Sunday, August 26 from 5-8 p.m. at Friedmans Home Experience.
All net proceeds to benefit children with developmental delays, behavioral and learning challenges and other special needs with the Stramski Children’s Developmental Center being Steel Magnolias’ main recipient.
Bon Appétaste will feature four award-winning chefs, including Pete Lehmar of Gladstone’s, Raquel Jubran of Lasher’s Kitchen, Louise Solzman of Table 301 and Andre Angles of Thai District, conducting cooking demonstrations throughout the evening. Brad Fry, head mixologist behind the bar at Chianina Steakhouse, will educate guests on how to create handcrafted cocktails including the event’s signature libation – The Steel Magnolia Mule.
Local food trucks and caterers, including Taco Surf, TGIS, Naples Rib Co. and The Lobsta Truck, will provide an array of menu choices, too.
The Sunday Fun-day gathering will spotlight the Architects of Jazz providing Rat Pack-style entertainment. Stella Artois will be pouring beer in keepsake chalices, while Epic Wine and Spirits will be showcasing an array of varietals at the wine bar. Decadent desserts will be provided by The Pie Bar, Frosted Cupcakery and Great Dane Baking Co.
Those who are unable to attend can purchase a ticket for an Opportunity Drawing featuring a seven-night getaway to the Sheraton Waikiki with overnight parking included and roundtrip airfare for two on Hawaiian Airlines. Tickets are just $50 and only a very limited amount will be sold. Winner need not be present.
VIP tickets are $175 per person or 6 for $1000; general admission is $100 per person.
