BACKHAUSDANCE AN EVENING OF WORLD PREMIERES AND FAVORITES

Backhausdance just completed a milestone 15th anniversary season that included its first European tour and an engagement at the internationally renowned Joyce Theater in New York. This season, Orange County’s critically acclaimed contemporary dance company launches its 16th season November 2 and 3 with a program of world premieres and company favorites at the Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theater in Long Beach.
The program will feature two signature works, “Hive” and “The Margin,” by Backhausdance Artistic Director Jennifer Backhaus that emphasize the company's ensemble aesthetic and lush movement vocabulary. The company will also perform two world premieres by internationally renowned guest choreographers Mauro Astolfi of Italy and Jhonathan Soutchy of Israel.
Tickets are $60 for premium seats, $40 for adults and $20 for students. Performances are Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. For tickets and more information, visit Backhausdance.org.

Shooting Stars Meet-Up to Cure Diabetes!

You can join a Shooting Stars Meet-Up to Cure Diabetes on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to directly support diabetes research with the JDRF Fund a Cure program. 100% of all donations go directly to diabetes research and is 100% tax deductible. The meet up will start at Java Bakery Cafe at Bayside Center in Newport Beach.
Each person who donates $35 (or MORE!) and attends the meet up, gets a very cool 2018 Edition Shooting Stars t-shirt; a $2 coupon plus and additional 20% off drinks and muffin/bagel or other goodies to eat; participation in an amazing team photo. Walk around Balboa Island
