Hops & Vines Charity Classic

The 12th Annual Hops & Vines Charity Classic will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 6-9 p.m. at Center Club in Costa Mesa. Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships benefit the Center Club Cares fund, which has selected Orange County School of the Arts to be the 2018 featured beneficiary.
In addition to Orange County School of the Arts, other organizations to receive funds from the event include Augie’s Quest to Cure ALS and the ALS Therapy Development Institute, and the ClubCorp Employee Care Foundation
The annual event will feature more than 30 award-winning wineries and world-class craft beers, as well as mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres. Among other offerings, Executive Chef Lewis Butler will be tantalizing taste buds with a cheese and charcuterie station, a raw bar featuring Alaskan king crab, a Spanish tapas station, and scrumptious desserts.
Entertainment will include Orange County School of the Arts students who will perform around the Club during the event, including some smooth saxophone music at the entry, a jazz quartet and more.
Center Club’s signature event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Tickets can be purchased at Hops & Vines 2018 Event at $105/person.
Center Club Orange County is at 650 Town Center Drive, Garden Level in Costa Mesa.

Ocean Institute Battle of the Bands Fundraiser

The Ocean Institute in Dana Point will be the site of a "Battle of the Bands" blues and soul sound on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. to raise money for their Distance Learning Program for disabled children.
Hosted by the Sand Dollar Guild, a fundraising arm of the Ocean Institute, two well-known blues bands will take to the stage. Brian Young and the Blues Band will join the Blues Racket Band for an evening of soulful sound amid the beautiful ocean setting at the Institute.
A silent auction offers additional ways to donate. An Opportunity Drawing Raffle includes a two-night stay for four people in a two-bedroom cottage suite and dinner for four at the Harvest Restaurant, donated by the Ranch at Laguna Beach. Other opportunity prizes include VIP passes to San Clemente's Outlet stores where guest can enjoy a beverage of their choice, light snacks, and relax during the hectic shopping season just around the corner.
Local restaurants will be serving up their most popular dishes, included with the price of your ticket. Mouth-watering offerings by Coffee Importers, Flip Donuts, Heat Culinary Parallel Pizzeria, Roux, Sharkey's, and Urban Plates. A cash bar with the area’s best beer from Stadium Brew as well as wine from Gemmel’s, are included in the event ticket.
