Sunday Musicale at Newport Beach Public Library

Newport Beach Public Library will kick off the new year with a Sunday Musicale on Sunday, January 13 at 3 p.m. featuring ACE Trio with Shannon Canchola on flute, Ryan Glass on clarinet and Jason Stoll, playing the piano. ACE Trio is a Los Angeles based classical modern ensemble rapidly distinguishing itself as one of the newest leading groups of its generation.

Admission is free. Seating is first-come, first-serve, based on room capacity. Sunday Musicales are funded by generous donations from the Friends of the Library. For more information, please contact the Library at 949.717.3800, option 2, or visit the website at newportbeachlibrary.org.

Sunday Musicales are held in the Friends Meeting Room at the Central Library, 1000 Avocado Avenue, Newport Beach.

Community Ballet Day

Celebrate the beginning of the year with free ballet classes and demonstration performance at Community Ballet Day on Saturday, January 12 from 1-3 p.m. at Southland Ballet Academy, Fountain Valley Studio.

Ballet classes are offered according age and training with a live ballet performance by Proteges of Ballet. Sweet treats and refreshments, too. It’s ideal for ages 3-10.

What to wear: Ballet attire: leotard, tights, ballet shoes and hair pulled back. For first-timers, it’s best to wear a tank top or t-shirt, leggings or shorts, heavy socks and hair pulled back.
