Iconic Delorean Time Machine on Display for One Night Only!
12.29.24
Experience movie magic on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 5 to 10:30 p.m., as the world-famous Delorean Time Machine makes a special appearance at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Fans of Back to the Future: The Musical can revel in the nostalgia of seeing one of cinema’s most iconic cars up close.
The Delorean, a legendary symbol of the Back to the Future trilogy, faced years of harsh weather and souvenir hunters, leaving it a shadow of its former self. But thanks to the dedication of executive producer and writer Bob Gale and restoration leader Terry Matalas, this cinematic icon has been brought back to its original time-traveling glory.
Two hero cars were created for the trilogy. The "A-car," now housed at the Petersen Museum, was restored in 2013. The "B-car," which suffered significant damage in a dramatic train crash during the films, contributed its recovered parts to this masterful restoration. This museum-quality project, completed by Matalas over more than a decade, boasts authentic, screen-used components.
The restoration was made possible with support from Segerstrom Center donor and local enthusiast Dave Tabb, whose shared passion for the Delorean made this incredible display a reality. Don't miss this unique chance to celebrate the legacy of the most famous film vehicle of all time!
Segerstrom Hall is at 600 Town Center Dr, Costa Mesa.
