#GoBecauseYouCan Monster and Sea 24-Hour Paddle
04.01.19
The 2019 Monster and Sea 24-Hour Paddle for local families battling cancer is coming up on April 13. Mark Schulein of Crown Hardware is participating in this incredibly cool event for a super import cause in our communities.
This is a grassroots way to make a real impact in the lives of local folks fighting cancer.
Schulein’s Team Newport raised over $18,000 last year. This resulted in 18 families receiving $1,000 in cash.
This year he’s also proud to be a founding member of Team Kauai; the first Team in the islands; but surely not the last.
The Monster and Sea 24 started 5 years ago with one team. This year there will be close to 200 teams across 40 cities in the US and Canada. It is a special event that does a ton of good where we need it... local.
The strategy is simple...they paddle for 24 hours. #GoBecauseYouCan is the mantra of Monster and Sea. They go because they can, and they will make a difference for those who cannot. It's that simple.
On April 13 at 8 a.m., the six-person teams will enter the water, and we will have paddlers on the water, unbroken, for 24 hours; ending at 8 a.m. on April 14. You can be a part of this campaign! You can paddle at mid-day or mid-night, come cheer or help via a donation.
You can easily donate at these links for either Team Newport or Team Kauai.
