Tanner’s Restaurant inside Paséa Hotel & Spa, the newest four-diamond hotel in Huntington Beach, launched a new surf city-inspired menu through the fall. It features local, sustainable ingredients inspired by the international flavors of renowned surf cities from around the world paying homage to famous surf spots from Hawaii to Australia and beyond, to honor the waves of the world.
NEW DISHES INCLUDE:
- Pan Seared Barramundi – Sydney, Australia. Tomato Tamarind broth, Fingerling Potatoes, Spring peas, sweet peppers and asparagus.
- Roasted Organic Peri-Peri Chicken - Cape town, South Africa. African Spice Roasted Jidori Chicken, Harissa Crusted White Yams, Mint Yogurt.
- Tuna Poke Nachos – Honolulu. Wonton Chips, Napa Cabbage, Fresno Chilis, Red Onion, Edamame, Wasabi Mayo.
- BBQ Chicken Skewers – Uluwatu, Bali Indonesia. Grilled Jidori Chicken, Cilantro Lime Rice, Pickled Cucumber Salad, Plantains, House Made Banana Ketchup.
- Blackened Salmon Taco – Malibu. Charred Napa cabbage Mango salsa, Pickled Fresno chilis, avocado cream.
- Grouper Ceviche - Baja, Mexico. Avocado, Cucmber, Heirloom Tomatoes, Red Onion, Crispy Garlic.

Showcasing breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean from the indoor and outdoor seating areas, Tanner’s also has an extended indoor bar plus a chic Treehouse-style rooftop bar that overlooks the ocean. The restaurant offers guests and locals a playful beachside atmosphere that connects them to the local surf scene while enjoying an unforgettable dining experience. Tanner’s is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and happy hour.

OC Punk Scene on Display at Chapman University Aug. 17 - Dec. 18

Orange County’s punk rock scene is on display at Leatherby Libraries at Chapman University with an opening reception on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Kids of the Black Hole: The First Two Decades of Punk in Orange County exhibit spotlights the visual culture of O.C. punk musicians, artists, and fans from the 1970s to 1990s. The regional aesthetics and politics of punk are explored through a unique collection of flyers, fanzines, clothing, album art, and memorabilia. Free to attend.
Display curated by Rand Boyd and Wendy Gonaver of the Frank Mt. Pleasant Library of Special Collections & Archives, with materials on loan from Jay Bauman.
