Taimane Elemental Tour

Taimane, a sensation in her native Hawaii and now a rising world music star, makes her Musco Center for the Arts debut on Sunday, October 20, at 4 p.m. Her Taimane - Elemental Tour brings the ukulele virtuoso and hypnotic vocalist to Orange County for one night only.
Joined by her backing quartet and dancer, Hawaii's '2019 Favorite Entertainer of the Year' transports her audience to a modern Polynesian paradise through seductive singing and phenomenal ukulele playing that incorporates styles from traditional to "shredding."
Accompanying her are classical guitarist Ramiro Marziani, percussionist Jonathan Heraux, violinist Baethoven who also sings background vocals, and the Polynesian dancer Liʻo.
Tickets are $25 to $48, and available at muscocenter.org or by calling Musco Center at 844.626.8726 (844-OC-MUSCO).
All print-at-home tickets include a no-cost parking pass. Musco Center for the Arts is located on the campus of Chapman University at 415 North Glassell in Orange.

New Zealand’s Black Grace

As part of its 15th season, the Laguna Dance Festival will present Black Grace, a critically-acclaimed dance company from New Zealand that draws from Maori and Pacific Islander dance, modern, and hip-hop. Set for Sunday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m., the evening will take the form of a dance lecture and demonstration in Bridge Hall at Neighborhood Church in Laguna Beach.
Viewers will have the opportunity to watch the company in a rehearsal environment. The meanings of some movements will be described, as well as themes behind the selected repertoire. Audience members will attend a reception and be invited to ask questions during a portion of the showing.
Tickets include a 5:30 p.m. reception prior to the 6 p.m. dance event. Tickets are $50 for general admission and can be purchased in advance at lagunadancefestival.org. Seating is limited; tickets may not be available at the door. Neighborhood Congregational Church is located at 340 St. Ann’s Drive, Laguna Beach.
