Stonefire Grill Supports Hunger Action Month

09.03.21

Stonefire Grill, Southern California’s fast-casual dining destination known for its generous portions of scratch-made, classic American-inspired dishes, and time-honored recipes, is helping to raise awareness about food insecurity during Hunger Action Month in September and is inviting guests to help fight hunger in their local communities by ordering a slice of carrot cake.

For each slice purchased at any of Stonefire Grill’s 13 locations, including sister restaurant Rattlers’ Bar B Que in Santa Clarita, the family-owned restaurant group will donate $1 to local food banks in the communities it serves with a minimum goal to sell 13,000 slices.

The goal for September is to raise awareness of the impossible choice many families in our communities face each day between putting food on the table and other critical needs – like medicine, electricity, or childcare. For each slice of carrot cake purchased, Stonefire Grill and Rattler’s Bar B Que will donate $1 to our Southern California food bank partners.

Stonefire Grill has partnered with The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank for its L.A. County locations, Second Harvest Food Bank for its Orange County eateries, Feeding America Riverside |San Bernardino for its Rancho Cucamonga restaurant and Food Share, Inc., for its pair of eateries in Ventura County.

On September 30, team members from each Stonefire Grill and Rattler’s Bar B Que location will present a check to the food bank that their location supports along with an oversized card signed by each team member thanking the staff and volunteers who help to serve those in need.

Beach & Brew Brings Self-Serve Beer & Wine to the Venice Beach Pier

09.02.21

Beach & Brew, Venice Beach’s first self-pour taproom and New American kitchen, has just opened in the area known as Washington Square. Located two blocks from the sand, the new concept offers a rotating selection of 40 self-serve beers, hard ciders, seltzers, and kombuchas, as well as California coastal wines.

Beach & Brew has taken over the former home of long-standing neighborhood favorite Kifune and is
intended to remain a comfort zone for local residents. The landmark Japanese restaurant has been
beautifully renovated into a modern upscale-casual space with a beachy yet urban feel.

Owners, husband-and-wife team, and experienced restaurateurs Gade and Daryl Dishluk wanted to
introduce the self-serve concept to their hometown and provide a space where guests can relax, taste new beverages, and experiment with different food pairings.

With iPourIt’s RFID-enabled self-pour technology, guests can serve themselves draft beverages using a wristband to activate the taps and keep track of their tab. The self-serve format allows users to explore and sample a variety of beverages as they please, without committing to a full pour.
“Venice Beach is our home and we’re really excited to be the first to offer the self-pour experience to our
neighbors,” Gade said. “The self-serve system cuts out the wait time and lets customers guide their
own tasting experience, which is perfect for the comfortable, laid back atmosphere we’ve created.”

The self-serve tap wall features a variety of regularly rotating local craft, domestic, and imported beer,
hard cider, hard kombucha, hard seltzer, and California coastal wine. Guests can also enjoy standard and specialty cocktails from the full-service liquor bar.

Executive Chef Jason Fullilove leads the dining program with 20 years of experience in hospitality and
restaurant management. His fun, flavorful New American seafood menu draws influence from global
travels and learnings from culinary figures around the world. Fullilove’s recipes are cooked from scratch
with fresh, locally sourced, in-season ingredients.
