Polly’s Pies Start Three-Day Baking Marathon Thanksgiving Week

11.19.21

For 72 non-stop hours, beginning Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 24, the ovens at Polly’s Pies will be going non-stop with bakers working round-the-clock to fulfill more than 53,000 pie orders just in time for Thanksgiving.

In addition, the culinary team will also be fulfilling some 20,000 take-home orders.

“Thanksgiving is our Super Bowl on steroids,” said James Kaa, president, and CEO of the 53-year-old restaurant brand that opened its first location in Fullerton, California. “During Thanksgiving week, we have three baking teams that do nothing but make and bake pies for the 72 consecutive hours with morning, mid-day, and overnight shifts. We also have team members working alongside the bakers who specifically box and label the pies. It’s something we prepare for all year.”

Kaa went on to say that the Polly’s team must adhere to a strict timeline with a new batch of pies going in the oven every 75 minutes in order to meet its demand. Coinciding with all the pie production, another team is preparing complete Thanksgiving dinners for guests to enjoy at home. This includes making more than 600 dozen dinner rolls at each of its 14 Southern California locations plus all the fixings that go along with the holiday feast.

“As much work as it is, the Thanksgiving frenzy we experience really puts you in the holiday mood,” said Jacklyn Mitosinka, director of brand for Polly’s Pies. “Without a doubt pumpkin is one of our top-selling pies during this time of year followed by apple and our own signature Banberry. We also make gallons and gallons of fresh whipped cream, as well as cinnamon, whipped cream to accompany our pie orders.”

Polly’s Pies is now accepting holiday pie orders as well as complete Thanksgiving dinners to enjoy at home. The restaurant will be open for pre-order pick up only on Thanksgiving day with a limited supply of pies for walk-in purchases. Doors will close promptly at 1 p.m. so team members can enjoy Thanksgiving with their families.

Small Batch Wines for Every day Indulgences

11.16.21

The Vice Wine is a Napa Valley luxury wine brand made in small batches. Each batch is crafted from single grape varietals sourced from hand-selected vineyards that best express the grape varietal and the region that it comes from. Passionate labor, sustainable farming, long expertise of the wine industry, and a current understanding of the consumer’s wine trend is the result of Vice Wine.

They believe that the best wines in the world aren’t the most expensive ones. They thrive at providing the best quality wine at the best value.

Here are some of our favorites from their label:

2019 Pinot Noir Rose, Los Carneros

Summer rose sipping may be coming to an end soon, but rose as a Thanksgiving dinner pairing wine is coming up fast! The Vice's rose of Pinot Noir is from Carneros, Napa Valley, offering a California sunset color with aromas of red berries and spring flowers. The wine completely fills the pallet with mouth-watering savory flavors of crisp acidity, minerality, summer strawberries, wet stones, and a touch of orange blossom. Enjoy this dry rose guilt-free with 0 grams of residual sugar.

The House Pinot Noir:

“The House” wines are The Vice’s expression of Napa Valley wines for everyday occasions. This batch was minimally crafted with one ingredient—Pinot Noir—and aged 10 months in French Oak barrels; making it a house wine easy to love on its own and a great companion to a variety of vices.

Rose, wild strawberry, and dark cherry accent the nose with a breeze of vanilla and coconut. Suave on the palate with focused minerality and solid power behind the red fruit core. Pomegranate, dried savory herbs, and chocolate lead to a fresh and juicy finish.

2019 Cabernet Franc, Los Carneros

Exclusive! Only available on thevice.com.
Red and blackberry fruit aromas leap from the glass accented with a trace of chili pepper. On the palate, the texture is at once light and dense. Bittersweet chocolate and cola interplay with a kiss of French Oak making a second taste irresistible. The finish lasts for several minutes so you can slow down a little if you must!
