Tonight you can audition for CHOC Follies XIII “The Wizard of OC”, a benefit show for CHOC Children’s. And please, this is not the time to argue that you’re not talented, the CHOC Follies Motto: “If you can talk, you can sing; if you can walk, you can dance!”

And you have plenty of time to rehearse, the musical debuts April 1-3, 2010 at The Robert B. Moore Theatre at Orange Coast College.

Auditions will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Island Hotel, 690 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach. (Free valet parking). Here’s what you need to know about auditioning. Just wear comfortable clothing. The auditions are held in groups – unless you want a solo part. If you want to do a solo song or dance number, please bring your music or a tape, a pianist will be available. Every cast member is required to raise a minimum of $1,000 through sponsorships, tickets and/or ads sales. You must live in Orange County and be at least 21 years old.

Any questions? Just contact Executive Producer Gloria Zigner at gzigner@mac.com or Associate Producer Lois Augustine at 714-532-8690 or laugustine@choc.org.

Proof that’s there’s more to coffeehouses than Starbucks and Coffee Bean: Koffee Klatch in Laguna Beach is one of our favorites. Hidden away in South Laguna,  the endearing seaside gem sits right on Pacific Coast Highway and is more relaxing bohemian oasis than your average java joint. Inside the cozy but eclectic coffeeshop, choose from a dizzying array of pastries, desserts, salads,  sandwiches and, oh, coffee too. The outdoor patio is especially relaxing, with comfortable lounge chairs perfect for curling up on with girlfriends for a gabfest or with your laptop (free WIFI, natch) for a few hours. 1440 S. Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. 949.376.6867.
