ROLEX AWARDS FOR ENTERPRISE Photo Exhibit

05.23.16

Rolex at South Coast Plaza will unveil the first exhibition featuring rarely-seen photographs and documentary films capturing the work and the history of the Rolex Awards for Enterprise on Wednesday, May 25 through Sunday, June 12.

The Rolex Awards for Enterprise support individuals from around the globe who push the limits of exploration and discovery for social good. These projects – which have touched all aspects of humanity by expanding knowledge or improving life on the planet – will be celebrated at the South Coast Plaza exhibit.

Select Laureates who have received this award over the past 40 years will be visiting Costa Mesa this week for the opening of the exhibit such as Lonnie Dupre most known for his record-breaking expeditions like his solo climb of Mt. McKinley and for being the first to dog sled the Artic Northwest Passage. Dupre’s historic Arctic expedition in 2005, which put the impacts of climate change on the map, was made possible by the $100,000 award from Rolex.

Dupre’s work and that of other recipients of the catalytic awards program will be unveiled in the one-of-a-kind photography exhibit.

Celebrate National Wine Day at Brunos Italian Kitchen

05.23.16

National Wine Day is on Wednesday, May 25 and the award-winning Brunos Italian Kitchen in Brea is celebrating with Penny Wine Wednesday! Brunos was named the Best Italian Restaurant in OC and it's giving guests the chance to try any glass of wine for only one penny with the purchase of any entree.

Brunos Italian Kitchen, named after owner and chef Peter Serantoni's mentor and father, Papa Bruno, brings to Brea the meals prepared in their Venice, Italy home.

The menu features his beloved grandmother’s dishes with many classic Italian favorites. Favorites include Polpette, Nonna Maria’s meatballs, tomato & fresh herb sauce and spaghetti; Bucatini di Cinghiale, a wild boar sausage, pancetta, tomato, radicchio trevisano and red wine; and Lasagna al Forno, fresh pasta, home-made Bolognese, béchamel and parmigiano.

Guests can find a curated selection of Italian and Californian wines built around the belief that cost should not be the deciding factor. Each glass and bottle of wine shares the same price point to make the selection process simple and encourage guests to be adventurous.

Brunos Italian Kitchen is at 210 W. Birch St., in Brea. 714.257.1000.
