Spring break is around the corner, and if dude ranches and unplugging are your thing, you will love Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, AZ. It’s one of America’s original, old-time cattle and guest ranches, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year! As the ultimate dude ranch experience, activities include miles of horseback riding trails through mountains and desert, fishing, biking, hiking, Jeep adventure, a kids’ camp and more.
The Ranch’s amenities include four tennis courts among the towering saguaro and ocotillo, several swimming pools, and more than 150 horses for lessons and rides from sun-up to sunset. A variety of lodging options provide spectacular scenic views and are tastefully decorated in traditional southwestern style with adobe walls and Santa Fe style architecture.
And for the season, it’s offering a Spring Break Package (March 9 – April 21)--rates start at $550/night.*
In April, The Ranch is in its most coveted season. Perfectly warm days, perfectly cool temperatures at night and the perfect time to be down in Arizona. The all-inclusive package offers enhanced activities for Spring Break such as astronomy in the desert, silversmith classes (make your own jewelry), pizza making classes for kids, wine, and painting, bingo, water aerobics.
Along with the all-inclusive which includes lodging with three hearty meals daily, supervised kids program (ages 4-11), horseback trail riding and lessons, scheduled breakfast rides and cowboy cookouts, mountain biking, fishing, guided hikes, nature programs, yoga and more.

Bracken’s Kitchen’s Betsy Dishes out Fresh Santa Monica Seafood Clam Chowder

It’s “Chowder Days” at Santa Monica Seafood in Costa Mesa, and in celebration, stop by Saturday, Feb. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and enjoy complimentary samples of clam chowder. Bracken’s Kitchen is the recipient of proceeds from all chowders sold and Betsy, their famed food truck will be outside dishing up Santa Monica Seafoods famed clam chowder for all to enjoy.
Chowders--New England Clam Chowder, Manhattan Clam Chowder, and Fish Chowder-- sold in Costa Mesa and Santa Monica stores now until National Chowder Day on Sunday, February 25 will benefit Bracken's Kitchen.
Bracken’s Kitchen partners with like-minded individuals and organizations such as Santa Monica Seafood to build a sustainable model that utilizes culinary creativity to serve those people suffering from both the ongoing effects of poverty and food insecurity.
Open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday to Thursday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
