Newport Beach Parenting Life Coach Daniel Patterson debuts “The Assertive Parent”
06.26.18
Being a teenager is arguably harder now than ever before. Societal pressures are ever-present including wanting to feel validated on social media, the constant news cycle sensationalizing crime, peer pressure to engage in various activities, more accessibility to substances and medications, pressure to get into a dream college, and school violence. Former teacher and school administrator, and parenting and teen life coach Daniel Patterson, shares his extensive knowledge on proactive and reactive parenting in his first book, “The Assertive Parent,” in hopes of modifying the approach parents take in raising their teenagers.
“One of the toughest things about raising teenagers is knowing how to communicate with them,” said Patterson. “This book will serve as a tool to enhance the connection, build trust, and help parents and teenagers navigate through the unruly times of growing up in today’s world.”
Patterson draws from over 15 years of experience as a high school teacher, administrator, and educational-centered parenting and teen life coach. Having received his master’s in secondary education, Patterson currently runs a full-time consulting firm, Patterson Perspective Inc. To date, he has worked with over 100 families, helping teens reach their full capacity in academic and social frameworks through positive reinforcement and giving parents the necessary tools for their children to achieve this.
“The Assertive Parent” is a practical roadmap for parents seeking to build autonomy, authenticity, and resilience in their teenage children. The book tackles four significant topics, including substance abuse and family communications and systems. Readers will experience a solution-oriented, judgment-free, and plug-and-play resource that provides a framework for successfully modifying their approach to parenting teenagers.
“The Assertive Parent” is available for $18 at Amazon.com. For more information visit pattersonperspective.com.
