5 for $6 ‘til 7 at Fleming’s!
02.29.12
When we think of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, we think steakhouse dining, wine flights, and Fleming’s famed 100 wines by the glass. Now we have new retro, modern and couture-style cocktails to taste and even better during its affordable “5 for $6 ‘til 7” bar menu offerings. At Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar top mixologists just debuted a new cocktail menu featuring three categories of drinks to fit your mood: Retro Chic ($10.95), Modern Martinis ($11.95) and Couture Cocktails ($12.50). The cocktails are made with chef driven seasonal ingredients like house-made-lemon thyme simple syrup, fresh pineapple, and fresh lime juice muddled with cool cucumber, and a touch of cilantro and jalapeño.
And until 7 p.m. you can order $6 appetizers like a new baked brie appetizer with candied walnuts and sliced gala apples, or sweet chile calamari and wicked cajun barbecue shrimp. Wine lovers can try new $6 wines by the glass, and beer fans can order two Widmer Brothers Brewing Rotator IPAs for $6.
Fleming’s is at 455 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach. 949.720.9633.

Wear to Where: Little Freebirds
02.28.12
Jessica MacEachern is the proud owner of Little Freebirds, Laguna Beach's most eclectic kids clothing store; specializing in organic earth-friendly apparel with an edge. Her aim is to pull influences from around the world representing carefree individualism with vibrant colors, while still bringing practical and wear-able pieces into every "little" wardrobe. With her own "littlest Freebird" on the way she recently decided to place some extra focus on all baby needs and instead of just carrying the typicals like infant clothing, carries and diaper bags she has recently included swaddling blankets and cloth diapers to the mix. Some of the lines that Little Freebirds carries are: Desigual, Topo Ranch, Mimi & Maggie, Feather Baby, Petunia Picklebottom, Aden & Anais, Tea and Masala Baby in options from Newborn through size 10.
Opening a children's boutique had always been a dream for Jessica and her mother Kerry, because of Kerry's career Jessica grew up moving every couple of years and lived in many different countries all around the world, so when it came time to finally lay down some roots with her new husband (Laguna local Steve MacEachern), Laguna Beach was the perfect fit, "I love it here – there is an open and welcoming sense of community that I have never experienced before." March 3rd will mark the 1 year anniversary of Jessica and her mom realizing their dream and I urge all of my readers to pay Little Freebirds a visit, when you do mention this post and receive 15% off your purchase.
Wear: Little Freebirds | 227 Ocean Avenue in Laguna Beach. 949.376.9925.
