Sweet National S’Mores Day at the Ritz-Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is celebrating the sweet National S’Mores Day on Saturday, Aug. 10 in a big way. You can orders its S’mores Sea Salt Martini (see recipe below) by the fire on 180blu, the resort’s outdoor lounge overlooking the ocean. At the intimate steakhouse, enoSTEAK, you can order a S’mores Casserole from the dessert menu, and The Market Place will showcase tasty S'mores cookies. All of these will be available today through Monday, Aug. 12.

Additionally, any guest that books a Fireplace Guestroom on Saturday, Aug.10 will receive a complimentary S’mores kit so they can celebrate this very “sweet” day in the privacy of their room.

S’mores Sea Salt Martini
1 ½ ounces of Stoli Vanil Vodka
1 ½ ounces of Bailey’s
Splash of Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
Graham Cracker Crumbs
Sea Salt
Chocolate

Dip the rim of martini glass in chocolate syrup and coat with sea salt and graham cracker crumbs
Drizzle the chocolate syrup inside the martini glass, garnish with a homemade marshmallow.

Now in Irvine: Bruxie’s Sweet and Savory Waffle Sandwiches

Bruxie is opening its sixth eatery in SoCal in Irvine today. The restaurant, which focuses on a menu of more than a dozen savory and sweet gourmet waffle sandwich offerings, is located at Culver and Walnut at the Heritage Plaza Center.

Bruxie’s grown in the last 2 ½ years, and Chefs, Partners and Concept Creators, Dean Simon and Kelly Mullarney are strengthening their brand by improving its original location in Old Towne Orange. Since opening, the Orange location grew to include a restroom, which it never had in its 61 years as a Dairy Treet prior to Bruxie’s arrival, and adding a larger covered outdoor dining space for guests.

At its fifth, and most recent location, at The Strand on 5th in Huntington Beach, Bruxie made its shakes, floats, desserts and beverages more accessible with the first “Bruxie Streetside” walk-up window, which will be added at future locations that have increased foot traffic.

All Bruxie menus offer Bruxie’s unique takes on authentic Belgian waffles, as well as salads, locally produced old-fashioned cane sugar sodas, real Wisconsin frozen custard, shakes, sundaes and floats. Bruxie proudly serves Peet’s Coffee & Tea products, and nothing on the menu exceeds $10.

All Bruxie locations are open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.
