Saint Marc Pub, Cafe, Bakery & Cheese Affinage Opens in Pacific City

12.29.15

Quite possibly the best dining concept ever: part bacon bar, bakery, cheese shop and bar, is the new Saint Marc Pub - Café, Bakery & Cheese Affinage -- a flagship restaurant at Pacific City in Huntington Beach.

Saint Marc has something for everyone. A well-curated selection of craft beer in a can, expertly handcrafted cocktails served in red SOLO cups and 32 wines on draft. The bacon bar features a wild variety of flavored cuts (including wild cherry, tender belly habanero and chocolate), while the cheese lovers can choose from more than 100 international selections. The café and bakery serves caffeinated drinks and free-flowing breads from breakfast hours until late night.

The kitchen prepares classics with a gourmet twist, such as grilled cheese and southern grits, to elegant charcuterie and ahi tuna cooked on salt rocks. You can’t pass up the lemon ricotta beignets!

You can stop in Saint Marc for intimate dinners, late night bites, business lunches or family brunches. An innovative, iPad menu system, used tableside and at free standing stations, offers images and on-demand ordering of any of Saint Marc's items for in-house dining or take out.

Saint Marc was created by Thomas (Mac) McFarland Gregory III, and Frank Mathew Belosic III. Gregory is a master mixologist, certified advanced sommelier, beverage consultant, and executive in the international food and beverage community with 25 years of experience developing, launching, and managing hundreds of locations for the world's most elite luxury hospitality brands. Ruby’s Diner Founder Opens Lighthouse Cafe

12.18.15

Ruby’s Diner founder, Doug Cavanaugh, just opened The Lighthouse Café at Newport Beach’s new Marina Park on Balboa Boulevard, a 10 plus acre waterfront development. The Lighthouse Café is serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily focusing on fresh, light California coastal cuisine with lots of seafood options.

It’s set in middle of the 24,000-square foot sailing and community center, complete with a park and picnic areas next to a 23-slip marina.

Lighthouse Café’s menu is overseen by 25-year-old executive chef and Orange County local Ryan Sumner, formerly a sous chef at The Beachcomber in Crystal Cove.

“Ryan represents a new breed of creative chefs who have a fresh perspective on meals their parents enjoyed and what their contemporaries would find appealing,” Cavanaugh said.

Menu highlights include bouillabaisse; pan seared Dover scallops, sea bass and manila clams served over angel hair pasta with ginger chili butter sauce. Appetizers highlights include ahi tuna wonton tostadas and beer-infused mussels marinieres.

Lighthouse Café also has an upstairs patio that flows around a lighthouse structure.

There will also be a walk up window serving a limited menu for those enjoying park and picnic visits. For boaters, Lighthouse Café will feature a special to-go menu available in the spring.

Open 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

1600 W. Balboa Blvd. 949.933.1001.
