Sapphire Laguna

MOTHERS LOVE SAPPHIRE LAGUNA!

05.02.11

By Sheryll Alexander

Sapphire Laguna has it all when it comes to taking the most important person in your life to Mother’s Day Brunch: location, location, location!

Located in South Laguna’s cozy, yet posh Old Pottery Place, Sapphire Laguna also boasts delectable cuisine by chef and proprietor Azmin Ghahreman.

Yes, imagine you and mother dining under marigold yellow umbrellas on Chef Azmin’s pretty patio with soft ocean breezes. His three-course global-inspired menu features such dishes as jumbo shrimp nicoise, eggs Benedict with truffle hollandaise sauce, a Spanish frittata with romesceau sauce, French toast nutella panini, pan-seared beef tenderloin, lamb schnitzel, roast chicken, lemon layer cake and walnut and pistachio baklava.

The Sapphire Laguna brunch is served from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and costs $58 (exclusive of beverages, tax and gratuity). A three-course kid’s menu for ages 5-12 costs $29.

And if you can’t get in the brunch, then take Mother on a walk to Old Pottery Place (don’t miss Laguna Beach Books!) and Sapphire Pantry. Located right next to Sapphire Laguna, Sapphire Pantry has all the makings for a coffee break with frothy cappuccinos and European pastries as well as international wines, cheeses, natural sodas, deli salads and sandwiches for on-the-beach picnics. Remember to stop next door at Chocolate Soldier for mom’s favorite chocolate therapy treat.

Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 949-715-9888 or complete a reservation request at www.sapphirelaguna.com.
