Newport Dunes Celebrates Memorial Day Weekend With Music, Movies, and More

May 18, 2026

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina is kicking off the unofficial start of summer with four days of waterfront entertainment, family activities, live music, movies on the beach, and outdoor fun over Memorial Day Weekend, May 22 to 25.

Set along the scenic Back Bay in Newport Beach, the holiday weekend lineup includes the return of the resort’s popular Inflatable Aquatic Park, live concerts during Tunes at the Dunes, outdoor movie nights, food trucks, cocktails, and overnight stays ranging from beach cottages to RV camping.

The Inflatable Aquatic Park will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features slides, climbing structures, and obstacle-style attractions floating on the calm bay. Guests can also explore the Back Bay by paddleboard, kayak, pedal boat, or Duffy boat throughout the weekend.

Live music returns with Tunes at the Dunes from 5 to 8 p.m. nightly at the Horseshoe Event Venue:
• Friday, May 22: Redneck Rodeo
• Saturday, May 23: Upstream
• Sunday, May 24: ShowBiz Guys

Guests can relax on the sand, dance by the stage, and enjoy a casual waterfront atmosphere with food trucks from 2 to 7 p.m. and full bars from 2 to 8 p.m.

Movies on the Beach will also return Friday and Saturday evenings at dusk, offering family-friendly films under the stars.

Throughout the weekend, Moe B’s Munchies will serve pizza, sandwiches, cocktails, and other casual favorites. On Memorial Day, breakfast and full bar service will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For overnight guests, Newport Dunes offers waterfront RV sites, tent camping, and beach cottages. The resort recently introduced six new Large Beachfront Cottages featuring coastal-inspired interiors, spacious layouts, and private outdoor decks.
