25 Years of Tees!

To celebrate its 25-year anniversary, Michael Stars has started shipping 25,000 tees to women in need across America in partnership with the National Coalition for the Homeless just in time for the holidays. All the t-shirts wil be distributed to women who seek emeergency shelter, are in transition to independent living or a part of the nation's homeless workforce in Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Washington, D.C.
Michael Stars is located in Fashion Island at 1005 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach. 949.999.0750. Open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

1. If you had to begin a different career, what would you do?
Documentary filmmaker.
2.What’s your most prized possession?
My spirit.
3. Favorite drink?
Angelini (my own martini – Chopin up, lemon twist, ‘float’ of Chambord).
4. What are you cutting out because of the economy?
"Play days."
5. Fantasy purchase?
Vacation home in St. John.
6. What can’t you live without?
Sleep.
7. What’s next on your “to do” list?
Join SCORE – service corps of retired executives – to help entrepreneurs or emerging businesspeople.
8. Biggest regret?
Not taking that ‘Junior Year Abroad’ while in college.
9. Cause that you’re most interested/involved in?
Susan Komen Race for the Cure.
10. Your dream day in Orange County?
Hike in the a.m., do some gardening, lunch in a picturesque setting with a dear friend, nap in the afternoon, read a little, sunset harbor cruise, delicious dinner with family and sleep in freshly made bed.
11. Favorite place for breakfast?
Newport Beach Yacht Club – can’t beat it!
12. What was the best day of your life?
One Easter Sunday in the late ‘70’s. My whole family was together and we all put on goofy hats and I just remember the feeling of love and laughter and our unique family twisted humor – it’s just popping up as unforgettably wonderful!!! That, and the day my dear Chuck asked me to be his bride!
13. Last concert that you went to?
Aerosmith.
14. Favorite vacation spot?
St. John, Virgin Islands.
15. If you had to live somewhere else, where would you like to move?
San Diego area.
16. Favorite books?
Plum Island – Nelson DeMille.
17. Favorite restaurants in Orange County?
True Food Kitchen, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Rothschild’s, Bluewater Grill, Brasserie Pascal, El Torito, Cucina Alessa, Wildfish, The Bungalow Restaurant.
18. Biggest accomplishment?
Humanitarian of the Year award from Women’s Cancer Research Foundation
19. What’s your biggest fear?
Not being able to enjoy any rest before I die or get sick.
20. Secret most people don't know about you
I was in a movie in my 20’s called ‘Fraternity Row’ – still occasionally airing on insomniac television.
